I went to bed in the East Village and woke-up in a bad xerox of mid-town turning in to a bad xerox of Dubai. Welcome to king Mike Bloomberg's hideous "new" New York. Can the people save what soul is left?

Mayor Bloomberg Haggerty Trial Sept. 12, Sept. 11 Scandal + Christine Qu...
To my knowledge Cy and Haggerty's defense attorney haven't subpoena---da da da the emails!!!!!!!!!!!
Maura Keaney worked with Haggerty on Mike' campaign sshhhhhhhh
Maura married to Mark Guma!!!!!! Mark dismissed SOME money Cy owed him but cy still had to do fund raising to pay Mark back. Does Cy owe Mark Guma a favor or two?
Maura gets pulled off haggerty to work with christie quinn
Christine Quinn and Maura Keaney get written up by Jim Dwyer for ethics lapse!!!!!!! Now Maura's husband Mark Guma is running Christine Quinn's campaign!
Mike broke campaign laws. It carries up to a year in jail. Village Voice and NY Observer articles in my blog post above.
NY Observer article says Mike funneled money to haggerty mayoral run no. 2 funneled money to haggerty via republican party.
No one has called for a forensic audit of Mike's campaign spending this run and previous have they?
My letter published in The Wall Street Journalhttp://online.wsj.com/article/SB111457272166718054.html Betrayal At Ground Zero.

Cover-up for Bloomberg MTA begins + 3:00 Evac Order lifted People Can Return Home! by Suzannah Troy Artist
The MTA subway system floods on rainy days....Bloomberg and the MTA cannot blame the streets, pipes cracking an breaking, the 3rd world conditions whether it’s Mike Bloomberg’s streets of NY or the MTA’s delipidated subway station conditions that look like a scene out of the original Planet of the Apes on Hurricane Irene...
Commuting will be hell because the MTA doesn’t seem to believe they can get the subways up ad running.
The flooding is a mess and worse because Bloomberg pushed a reckless tsunami of development without addressing infrastructure.

MTA Shut Down but Not Carriage Horses! ASPCA Hello?
President Obama declared a state of emergency for New York State about 5 p.m. on Friday in anticipation of Hurricane Irene, a Category 2 storm, making landfall on the East Coast. Philip E. Parr, a former member of the New York City Fire Department and former federal coordinator for relief efforts after Hurricane Katrina, was named the coordinating officer.
The President of the US - not even the mayor or governor - but the President!
Yet as of 1:36 PM on Saturday- the ASPCA has still not suspended the carriage horses from working. Do they know more than all the weather forecasters?
We know that they have always enabled the industry - but this is just absurd!
from the Administrative Code
§ 17-330 Regulations.
f. Owners shall not allow a horse to be worked on a public highway, path or street during adverse weather or other dangerous conditions which are a threat to the health or safety of the horse. A horse being worked when such conditions develop shall be immediately returned to the stable by the most direct route.
NYC Charter - Title 24 Chapter 04 -- § 4-05. Working Conditions.
(b) Environment. (1) Owners shall not allow a horse to be worked on a public highway, path or street during adverse weather or other conditions which are a threat to the health or safety of the horse and the public. Adverse weather conditions shall include but not be restricted to snow, ice, heavy rain or other
slippery conditions. A horse being worked when such conditions develop shall be returned to the stable by the most direct route as soon as practicable.

See this video by film maker Donny Moss - ASPCA Fails the Carriage Horse.
Please look carefully at this video and know that it is the truth.
If the ASPCA is afraid to suspend the business for safety and humane reasons, afraid that they might be sued, then they are not doing their job. The City of NY should enter a contract with an outside entity and dump the ASPCA.

Mayor Bloomberg Serious! Suzannah Troy Artist Says Mike and Gang Worse than a Natural Disaster! Wake-up New Yorkers!
Mike can we have a roll call? Are any of your deputy mayors in town this weekend?
The city workers Mike hasn’t laid-off he wants to be GPS on but he and Pat Harris would not even tell us where they were during Bloomberg’s Blizzard of 2010!
CityTime aka CityCrime aka The Tax Payer’s Titanic -- largest White Collar Crime EVER exposed NYC gov and Rudy brought in CityTime and SAIC that suckered us for close to a billion and than ECTP -- close to 2 billion -- that is our 911 tech system flawed and out of control billing and than there are the board of ed tech deals.....flawed, robbed blind across the boards, the biggest amount of crime and mostly in the IT sector Information Technology and lots of government contracts where they over billed and it was not competitive in terms of contracts as in the fix was in and lobbyists liked their lips as the pushed companies billing us outrageously as Bloomberg set a record in outsourcing for lots of flawed tech.
In meantime the streets of NYC look like a third world, way too many harsh cuts and more to come, more huge lay-offs and of poor and middle class people that need their jobs...

“I have always imagined that Paradise will be a kind of library.”
— | We couldn’t agree more with legendary writer Jorge Luis Borges, whose birthday is today. Happy birthday! Want to see the manuscript of his La loteria en Babilonia? It’s being shown as part of our FREE exhibition Celebrating 100 Years at the landmark Stephen A. Schwarzman Building on 42nd Street. See over 250 rare items from our collections, including artifacts belonging to Charles Dickens, Malcolm X, Charlotte Bronte, John Coltrane, Bob Dylan and on and on and on. See you there! |
Something For Everyone At William Barnacle Tavern
You can't get a Budweiser or Coors at Theatre Link; the first is a matter and the second is a matter of good taste. So say Lorcan Otway, the proprietor.
What you can get is everything from a three dollar Rheingold to a 100 dollar shot of 25 year old Talisker Single Malt Scotch Whiskey.
A good whisky should be old enough to walk in to a bar and order itself, jokes Otway.

Mayor Bloomberg Gets an “F” For Infrastructure From Suzannah B. Troy Artist
Have to upload it folks.
It is hard to tell from this photo but I am in a large depression and people tell me when a truck drives by and sinks in there is the loudest noise.
I have more photos of this street 9th Street between 2nd and 1st Avenue and the street is awful. This has been going on for years under Bloomberg and of course it is city wide.
I was going to show you the FDNY fire truck in the middle of the street but instead look at the street conditions on Great Jones where I finest have to respond to fires! The streets of NY under Bloomberg are awful and dangerous!
I have a copy I can email concerned readers of the Resolution.
The photo above is where a sewage break occurred years ago and Con Ed, DEP and DOT just can’t fix it. Where the people and the bus to your left are standing is an enormous depression which has become par for the course under Bloomberg. I have filmed a YouTube Series call
http://eastvillageeasteastvillage.blogspot.com/2011/08/ny-post-colin-mixson-reports-141-year.html
Dear Folks: Although I am not a fan of Hiram Monserrate he did introduce this resolution which would have prevented the hell New Yorkers are living right now with the exclusion of the bike lands. The streets and what lay beneath them are a mess and Bloomberg new this and he and Dollar Bill Dan Doctoroff refused to do anything about it so Mike’s socialite city planner mega-millionaire Amanda the People’s Burden (the Cathie Black of City Planning) could push a reckless Tsunami of Community Crushing Development) and on old NY’s infrastructure. When I had a letter published in AM NY on this I even handed in a copy to Con Ed years ago demanding they ask Mike Bloomberg to slow down and put safety first.

Part 1 in series....
http://www.ny1.com/content/69978/east-village-water-main-break-leaves-thousands-without-water Over 3 years and the mayor, DEP and DOT can’t fix the intersection where a medium size water main break occurred and some small businesses are now gone. 2nd Avenue and 7th Street....explain that and just about every other street through out NYC under Bloomberg resembling a third world country.

Mayor Mike Bloomberg CityTime 3 Wake-Up New Yorkers!!! by Suzannah B. Troy Artist
http://eastvillageeasteastvillage.blogspot.com/2011/08/josh-margolin-ny-post-exposes-277.html
Question: Plenty of these lobbyists worked for NYC gov. so in theory they served the People of NYC. Did it ever occur to them the spending was excessive and way over budget and therefore the People were not being served but in fact raped and robbed?
If so ethically were they obligated to speak up or the financially and perhaps other back room deals even political support was just to enticing to resign from a lobbyist position?

Richard Sandler 80’s When Greed Was Good Featured in Time Light Box post by Suzannah B. Troy artist
http://lightbox.time.com/2011/08/03/richard-sandlers-80s-when-greed-was-good/#1
There are grey tones. Do I appreciate feeling safe walking down the streets of Time Square and elsewhere in the city? Yes!!! What Richard Sandler shows us is the make-over and take-over by corporations and I understand some of the positives in terms of a cleaner, safer more pleasant city but ultimately what I didn't realize at the time was that film maker had his pulse on was the end of a kind of dynamism and edginess that made NYC what it is. It seems now that we can't have the best of both worlds and my neighborhood (East Village/Bowery/Lower East Side now looks like a bad xerox of midtown even resembling Time Square)thanks to mayor Mike Bloomberg.
Now we have generic chains stores through out the city and every neighborhood looks the same. Only bars, banks and Starbuck like chain stores can afford this "new city" that under the Bloomberg administration brought sky piercing luxury condos and hotels mostly all for the mega rich reflecting a history destroyed and communities no longer welcome.
Richard Sandler "got it" before any of us and he does leave a lot of grey tones for you to come to your on conclusions. Well done. Time to do another masterful documentary..."Welcome to the "new" hideous New York.
I would always see Richard filming around the neighborhood and we love Angelica’s for great Vegetarian food....great to see his work featured in Time Light Box....
Here is my review of his film from Amazon

5.0 out of 5 stars Gods of Times Square on the money, foreshadows the death of 'old' New York for shopping mall nyc, December 29, 2007

This review is from: The Gods of Times Square (DVD)
I saw this film when it first came out and I thought it was powerful but now looking back, Richard Sandler's film has grown in importance because post-Sept. 11, under a billionaire mayor and a multi-millionaire socialite city planner came a tsunami of community crushing development mostly all for the mega rich and a kind of shopping mall chain story retail explosion city wide punctuated with banks on every street corner that has robbed NYC of it's soul and originality. There are grey tones.
