Peaceful Protest We Need A Hospital West Village
You are invited to participate in the enactment of a mass civilian trauma exercise on the sidewalk outside St. Vincent's Hospital.
Join community members as they plan to peacefully organise a field hospital on the sidewalks, form into make-shift blood donation lines, visualise what it would look like to set up alternative decontamination showers, help each other to tie on surgical masks to protect each other from air-bourne particles, and finally to think through what steps would need to be taken to request provisional mass casualty tents.
Some of the participants will ''not make it,'' because there is no Level 1 Trauma Center below 14th Street. And it probably takes ambulances over 30 minutes to respond to the Lower West Side of Manhattan, and then it would probably take another 30 minutes for ambulances to drive through busy cross-town traffic to any of the hospitals on the East Side. The ''survivors'' will have to figure out what to do with the “injured” participants.
Then, a team of survivors will walk over to Grace Church, 86 Fourth Ave., Tuttle Hall, to ask for help from Jason Mansfield, the chair of Manhattan Community Board 2's Environment, Public Safety & Public Health Committee.
Community Board 2 is about to approve the rezoning of St. Vincent's to allow the billionaire Rudin Family to convert the hospital into luxury condos. Community residents hope that this civilian trauma exercise will educate and mobilise the public to stop CB2 from approving the dangerous Rudin condo conversion plan for St. Vincent's Hospital.
The community's goal is to keep the real estate zoning intact, to attract new hospital investors to restore a full-service hospital at the former site of St. Vincent's.

To the Editor:I’m extremely disappointed in the City Council, particularly Christine Quinn and (my UES representative) Jessica Lappin (“Who Will Save Them?” Sept. 22) for fast-tracking the bill that will excuse the city of its obligation to build desperately needed animal shelters in both the Bronx and Queens. As Assemblywoman Linda Rosenthal said, “This might increase the number of staff people, but there will be no room. This is sentencing thousands of animals to death by not following up with building new shelters.”
Shame on the council, the ASPCA and the Mayor’s Alliance for Animals, among others, for not fighting for what’s best, instead adding dollars to an already broken shelter system.

Michael I want to talk to you but how Cooper Union, NYU jr. is destroying and displacing communities like Columbia U. abusing eminent domain to move an entire neighborhood called Manhattanville but I will be celebrating the Jewish New Year.
Maybe you can further shame NYU jr. aka Cooper Union from not evicting St. Marks Bookstore which can’t afford to be on St. Mark’s anymore or any where in the E. Village because of Cooper Union, NYU, NYU mega-dormed the E. Village to death, NY Law has a mega dorm next to the Hells Angels and SVA all confusing the community with dorm fodder and they use their not for profit status as a tax shelter and bust thru zoning using the term “community facility”but they exclude the facility. I demand community outreach centers in every University “community facility” so Michael Moore shame Cooper Union.
Cooper Union has this “neogtiating with terrorists” but for some reason Cooper Union did not included themselves as terrorists and NYU as well as Columbia U. in this EVENT.

MTA Shut Down but Not Carriage Horses! ASPCA Hello?
President Obama declared a state of emergency for New York State about 5 p.m. on Friday in anticipation of Hurricane Irene, a Category 2 storm, making landfall on the East Coast. Philip E. Parr, a former member of the New York City Fire Department and former federal coordinator for relief efforts after Hurricane Katrina, was named the coordinating officer.
The President of the US - not even the mayor or governor - but the President!
Yet as of 1:36 PM on Saturday- the ASPCA has still not suspended the carriage horses from working. Do they know more than all the weather forecasters?
We know that they have always enabled the industry - but this is just absurd!

f. Owners shall not allow a horse to be worked on a public highway, path or street during adverse weather or other dangerous conditions which are a threat to the health or safety of the horse. A horse being worked when such conditions develop shall be immediately returned to the stable by the most direct route.
NYC Charter - Title 24 Chapter 04 -- § 4-05. Working Conditions.
(b) Environment. (1) Owners shall not allow a horse to be worked on a public highway, path or street during adverse weather or other conditions which are a threat to the health or safety of the horse and the public. Adverse weather conditions shall include but not be restricted to snow, ice, heavy rain or other
slippery conditions. A horse being worked when such conditions develop shall be returned to the stable by the most direct route as soon as practicable.

The city workers Mike hasn’t laid-off he wants to be GPS on but he and Pat Harris would not even tell us where they were during Bloomberg’s Blizzard of 2010!
CityTime aka CityCrime aka The Tax Payer’s Titanic -- largest White Collar Crime EVER exposed NYC gov and Rudy brought in CityTime and SAIC that suckered us for close to a billion and than ECTP -- close to 2 billion -- that is our 911 tech system flawed and out of control billing and than there are the board of ed tech deals.....flawed, robbed blind across the boards, the biggest amount of crime and mostly in the IT sector Information Technology and lots of government contracts where they over billed and it was not competitive in terms of contracts as in the fix was in and lobbyists liked their lips as the pushed companies billing us outrageously as Bloomberg set a record in outsourcing for lots of flawed tech.
In meantime the streets of NYC look like a third world, way too many harsh cuts and more to come, more huge lay-offs and of poor and middle class people that need their jobs...

Mayor Bloomberg Gets an “F” For Infrastructure From Suzannah B. Troy Artist
Have to upload it folks.
It is hard to tell from this photo but I am in a large depression and people tell me when a truck drives by and sinks in there is the loudest noise.
I have more photos of this street 9th Street between 2nd and 1st Avenue and the street is awful. This has been going on for years under Bloomberg and of course it is city wide.
I was going to show you the FDNY fire truck in the middle of the street but instead look at the street conditions on Great Jones where I finest have to respond to fires! The streets of NY under Bloomberg are awful and dangerous!

The photo above is where a sewage break occurred years ago and Con Ed, DEP and DOT just can’t fix it. Where the people and the bus to your left are standing is an enormous depression which has become par for the course under Bloomberg. I have filmed a YouTube Series call

Dear Folks: Although I am not a fan of Hiram Monserrate he did introduce this resolution which would have prevented the hell New Yorkers are living right now with the exclusion of the bike lands. The streets and what lay beneath them are a mess and Bloomberg new this and he and Dollar Bill Dan Doctoroff refused to do anything about it so Mike’s socialite city planner mega-millionaire Amanda the People’s Burden (the Cathie Black of City Planning) could push a reckless Tsunami of Community Crushing Development) and on old NY’s infrastructure. When I had a letter published in AM NY on this I even handed in a copy to Con Ed years ago demanding they ask Mike Bloomberg to slow down and put safety first.

Question: Plenty of these lobbyists worked for NYC gov. so in theory they served the People of NYC. Did it ever occur to them the spending was excessive and way over budget and therefore the People were not being served but in fact raped and robbed?
If so ethically were they obligated to speak up or the financially and perhaps other back room deals even political support was just to enticing to resign from a lobbyist position?
